The idea that anybody with your face can have no sense of humor is frightening. How is that real?

Crazy cop? Not by blood, but by marriage, yeah. It made Christmas really, really weird in retrospect.

The giant alien snakes weren't enough to convince them especially after they found out it got killed. I wasn't a Numbered then and so they insisted it'll be fine.

They'll probably call you back, too. It's not like you'd un-Number, but you'd probably be a little safer in Vegas.

Being around someone with a Number apparently increases the chances of someone gaining their own. I'm not going to risk it.

I really doubt we're actually contagious.

Trouble occurs around the Numbered anyway.

If I go back to Vegas, I can. [He shrugs.] I'm not that far away from graduation, and I haven't decided where to go after. I might leave the country entirely to study or work elsewhere if the opportunity comes, but for now, I'm not moving.
