The giant alien snakes weren't enough to convince them especially after they found out it got killed. I wasn't a Numbered then and so they insisted it'll be fine.

They'll probably call you back, too. It's not like you'd un-Number, but you'd probably be a little safer in Vegas.

Being around someone with a Number apparently increases the chances of someone gaining their own. I'm not going to risk it.

I really doubt we're actually contagious.
